How musical blocks work
Prepare and audition chords, melody, bass or drums in a module with a DAW command. Transfer creates a block containing notes, rhythm, instrument, groove and source settings where available.
From module to project
- Choose a key, instrument, voicing or pattern in the module and audition it.
- Press Create Block in DAW to bring the part onto the timeline.
- Arrange and duplicate blocks across tracks. Reopen a copy in its source to edit it without changing the original.
- Save the project to keep the arrangement and its blocks; recall it to continue working.
What belongs to a block
Instrument and groove belong to the block and are selected in its source. One melodic track can hold blocks with different sounds; moving a block does not change its instrument. Volume, EQ, Mute and Solo belong to the track and affect its blocks. Drums remain on dedicated tracks.
All parts follow the project tempo and meter. They also need compatible harmony and form to work together.
